How do you greet people in your life?

When I greet somone, I say Family name and bow only.

Almost Japanese people don't body contact.


Is it different for different people?

When I went to British to study abroad, My host family is very friendly.

It was first time we met, They are hug me and kiss on my cheek.

They had a lot of body contacts.

How so and why?

I think body contacts have a close affinity with people easily.

Therfore, They did body contacts.

Do you touch people when you talk to them? Why? Or Why not?

I don't touch people when I talk to them.

I am ashamed to touch other people.

May 11 homework

Japanese culture

1.Bow: Japanese people bow when we meet someone. Bow mean I am not your enemy.
Japanese think most important part in our body is head, so every one bow.

2Entrance: In japan, Entrance held in April. Japanese people live on rice.
In april, Japanes prant rice, so we start term.

3Seiza (fold one's legs under oneself):Japanse people do seiza when we sit on the floor.
A long time ago, when we pray to Buddha we did Seiza.
Therefore we often do seiza when sit on the floor.

4Itadakimasu(Japanese people say this word before they eat somthing.)

This word means appreciation to all animate beings.

5Take off the shoes when we enter house.

Japanese people take off own their shoes, becouse it is clanese to do it.
To take off the shoes is wisdom from Budda.
